This'll probably be the last entry here, just a heads up.

After almost five years with Livejournal, I've outgrown the need to have a personal blogging site here to run down my everyday life activities. I feel I owe friends an explanation why I'm going so here we go:

#1 - That business with location being displayed on comments and users finding themselves logged into the accounts of others were enough to drive me off almost completely months ago but the subject line BS and Igrick acting like an entitled jerk about it were the final nails in this coffin. I don't trust LJ staff with protecting me or my privacy and the absence of subject titles in comments means the end of visible trigger warnings that prevent episodes of PTSD. Not cool. In addition, a staff member calling English speaking users "mice" and trivializing their valid opinions and/or concerns is absolutely unforgivable. And finally, the fact that LJ staff trolled users under sockpuppet accounts, going so far as mocking those with mental illnesses, makes this a site that I certainly don't wish to even be a part of or support.

If not for the fact I'm sure someone would use a rename token to get this account name and cause me shit, I'd delete my LJ entirely and everything I wrote here.

#2 - I've grown past the need to update the internet on my daily life and struggles. I'm pretty fine with updates here and there on Plurk and talking to my friends via phone or in real life. I also rediscovered something else quite wonderful - pen and paper journaling. No, you don't get back pats or validation when you write about something bad but you get the security that what you've written is private and easily destroyed, not left forever on the internet to haunt you or turn up at the wrong time.

If I do choose to share random stuff with the internet again, it'll be on Dreamwidth.

#3 - The continued harassment, invasion of privacy and whining from Tim - better known as [info]symphonic_rp - has left me wanting to go to a place where 50-year old manchildren aren't about to cause ill out of continued jealousy and bitterness.

All right, that's that. Thanks guys for all the years of fun here but greener pastures await. I'll still be reading some of my communities and commenting, at least until they move to Dreamwidth too.
